Summary: Better than the old school diapers w/pins- a definite upgrade 2008-12-30
Comment: I purchased these for my second baby hoping I can save money on regular diapers and also do my part in not creating more waste in landfills. I've used these since my daughter was a newborn and now she's six months old. I love the fact that i can reuse them, when i wash them they're clean and i've saved a lot of money on boxes of diapers. Two things were a little hard to deal with at first, these are good for the baby since they are cotton but i found that they leaked through the sides so i didnt use these for night use since my daughter rolls over quite a bit. Also, as many of you may wonder, washing poop off of these kinda sucks. When they're breast fed, it was no biggy but once she started eating solids...yeah, you have to clean them off before washing them. I didnt clean them completely, just enough to where the bulky parts were off...then i rinsed w/vinegar in cold water, then ran a regular cycle w/ a little bit of detergent. Trust me, the poop comes off and you cant even tell which diaper was the poopy one! I still use them and will continue because the regular diapers are such a waste!

Summary: Leaky or bulky, is that really a choice I have to make? 2008-12-29
Comment: I was really hoping these would work as they are pretty cheap as far as cloth goes. Unfortunately they leak like crazy, little bits seeped out on a lot of my daughter's jammies right off the bat and major leaks as soon as she started having good size bm's, within two weeks or so it was really bad.

So I decided to just use an additional cover and they are HUGE on a little newborn body, and my baby is not that small. I did try the technique that one reviewer specified on how to fit the diaper, which helped but did not stop the leaks. I had an 8 1/2 pound baby and with this diaper and the cover she actually won't fit in most newborn size pajamas! Very disappointed.

Summary: You get what you pay for 2008-12-19
Comment: I just had my first baby in September and was turned onto cloth diapering by a friend who uses the same Kushie's AIOs on her daughter. She showed me how easy they were and not knowing much about the other versions I decided to go with 15 Kushie's AIOS. I'm a stay at home mom so doing laundry daily wasn't a huge deal. My first complaint is that they leak---a lot. The elastic that goes around the babies tights and legs don't contour to the baby, so for my breastfed baby who has liquidly poop, it literally would just drip out the sides...no matter how tight I got them! three days in a row I'd pick her up out of her swing and it would be dripping in a pool. My second complaint is that they don't hold up that well in the wash, the velcro is starting to come unstitched---I've been using them since mid Sept of this year. They work decently for infants, but once your baby is mobile or even semi-mobile (rolling over, trying to swim/crawl) they're basically worthless.

Now, for a little extra money I'd HIGHLY suggest going with Bum Genius' OS Diapers! I decided to buy 3 of the BGs to see if they worked better. At 3 months my daughter is just under 16 lbs, so she will soon be growing out of all of her Kushies and I don't have any intension of buying Kushies in the Toddler sizes. They are a dream come true! They're fitted around the legs with real elastic, also elastic above tghe booty, much softer and NEVER leak!

Summary: These ARE our nighttime diapers 2008-08-20
Comment: I bought a 5-pack of these diapers before my daughter was born, as well as some other cloth diaper solutions. We tried to put her in them before she was 10 pounds (born at 6.5lbs), and found they leaked horribly. Disappointed, I washed them and put them away for a few weeks. Once she reached 10 pounds, these diapers magically fit her properly! They do create that funny bubble-butt effect that you get with all cloth diapers - It helps a little with balance sitting up and I find it kind of endearing. We now own 15 of these plus a couple of other AIOs. We use them exclusively and I do a diaper wash every other day.

The plasticy outer layer definitely prevents soak-through. She sleeps a full 9 hours at night and wakes up happy and comfortable in these, and her bedsheets are dry. My husband is very happy to use these, and so is my mother! (My husband was on board initially, but not so much my mom...)

I made sure to wash these at least once for better absorbancy when they were new before I put the baby in them. I wash these with clear & free laundry soap, (but NOT baby laundry soap) for better stain removal, and I use a scoop of Oxi Clean. When drying them in the dryer, I use the timed-dry setting for 40-45 minutes. The dryness sensor on my dryer cannot tell how long to dry these for and they come out damp.
