Summary: Disposable to Cloth 2008-02-18
Comment: I was a doubter that a busy mother could handle the added work of cloth diapers. I pictured pins and rubber pants and soak throughs. I have two babies in diapers and luckily they both fit into the toddler size Kushie diapers. There are no pins and the diapers don't soak through if you change often as you should anyway. Now I can't believe I spent all that money, time, and energy on disposables!

Once you get the diapers you will learn all kinds of time saving tricks to clean them. The Kushie care insert recommends you soak the diapers in water after dumping the contents into the toilet. The problem is that the contents may not dump especially if your baby is eating pureed food. I found that if I waited a few hours and the diaper dried out, the contents fell out more easily.

Summary: Love These Diapers 2008-02-15
Comment: After reading an article about what disposable diapers are doing to our environment, I did a little research on cloth diapers. I have two daughters under the age of two, so I wanted something that worked and worked well... And I found it in these diapers. They are great. They wash great, they dry great, they NEVER leak, and they are all around great. Everyone trying to make the earth a little greener should go this route, not to mention the amount of money that they would save if they used these from birth!!!

Summary: OK as back-up diapers 2006-02-24
Comment: I have been cloth diapering my 9 month old son since the day he was born. I did a lot of research on cloth diapers and have spent a lot of money on them... my son hit some serious growth spurts and we went through four sets of diapers by the time he was five months! During one of these growth spurts, I realized that I really didn't have enough diapers (and I dreaded spending any more money) so I purchased a pack of the Kushies All In Ones. They are definitely cost effective, which is great. The All In One feature is nice for laundering but I found them too bulky (I had difficulty fitting his clothes over them) and they never fit properly around my son's waist and legs causing leaks. They aren't terribly absorbant... one good pee and then they're done!

In my experience, they are OK diapers. If you want something more absobant that keeps the moisture off of your baby's skin, look for Fuzzi Bunz with hemp inserts - they are awesome!

Summary: Kushies made cloth diapering easy 2005-10-25
Comment: I will start by saying I have only used the Toddler size since my daughter was in disposables until a few months ago. I had looked into cloth diapering earlier - I have several friends who do it and explained it but it seemed like a lot of extra work. I was already doing a ton of laundry - who had time to do more? Then I did a calculation of how much I spent on diapers in a month ~ $120. We change our daughter every 2 hours except overnight so we go through a LOT of diapers. So I did some more research and decided to try the Kushies AIO. I invested in one 5-pack figuring that would last one day and if it was too much work, then I wouldn't be completely bankrupt over it. Using these has made cloth diapering SO EASY. I now have 20 Kushies, so I do a wash when I have about 5 left. I rinse the diaper out after use, put into a dry pail, then wash with a little detergent and vinegar and have had no problems with staining or odor. As for the drying time, I stick a dry towel in with them and it really helps. I also fold them inside out and it helps too. I run the dryer once then line dry the rest of the way (in my basement of all places). They usually are dry by the end of the day. We do still use a disposable for overnight.
The other plus of these is that my daughter is now more aware of when she has gone and I am hoping that will help in the potty training. AND I no longer spend $120 on diapers every month!

Summary: Ok for the novice cloth diaperer, easy learning curve 2005-05-18
Comment: I started out diapering my son with Kushies Ultra AIOs when he was about three weeks old. I didn't like them because:

1. They took EONS to dry.

2. They leaked out of the legs. My son has fat little thighs and they still gaped.

3. My son got horrible diaper rash from the cold, clammy wet cotton being up against his bum.

The only thing I like about Kushies is that they are easily accessible to people who might be interested in cloth diapering but really have no idea where to start.

Long story short, I ebayed them and bought Fuzzi Bunz. We are both so much happier! Fuzzi Bunz are more adjustable, not much more expensive, and dry in just a few hours of hanging indoors. And the pesky diaper rash went away with the Kushies!
