Summary: best diaper cream out there!!! 2007-04-26
Comment: Bye bye diaper rash ~ this product is wonderful and works fast. My newborn had a diaper rash that Desitin and other name brands wouldn't treat but I used this one and it cleared up in a few days. Great product and brand!!!

Summary: Excellent... 2006-08-02
Comment: My daughter had horrible diaper rash and this cream cleared it up the quickest. I've tried others and this one seems to do the trick the fastest! I would recomment it to everyone!!!

Summary: Just OK... 2006-03-20
Comment: Our son had diaper rash while we were using the Mustela...we found that it just wipes off his tush too easily. We had much better luck with Boudreau's Butt Paste and regular old Desitin. They're thicker and visibly remain on until the next application, and they also cleared his rash right up as soon as we started using them.

Summary: Best diaper cream 2005-11-30
Comment: This diaper barrier cream is wonderful! Most other creams are too oily or runny to get good coverage. This cream is just the right consistency, and is very soothing for irritated areas. Our daughter never had bad diaper rashes, and I believe it is because of this cream. You should apply it at the first sign of redness to prevent a rash. Although it is expensive for the amount of cream, we only had to buy 2 tubes when our daughter was an infant. It's definitely worth the money.

Summary: The best barrier cream we've tried 2005-07-14
Comment: I got one tube of this cream when my daughter was a newborn. I've tried a few other barrier creams but I always come back to the Mustela. At the first sign of any redness, I dab a thin, thin layer of this cream on the area and the irritation is gone the next day. I've heard horror stories about diaper rash but the only time my daughter ever had it was as a reaction to another barrier cream (w/ a quirky, funny name -- supposedly great).

As to the price, I'm still using that original tube two years later (and I believe it's time to replace it). Since it works so well at preventing diaper rash, I haven't had much need to use it and when I do I use very little. The smell is very light, not floral, "babyish" or "fishy," like other barrier creams can be.

It also cleans up off my fingers easily; other creams can be sticky and stubborn to wash off. But if I put it on my daughter before bed, it's still there in the morning.

The only other diaper-area product I've used that's similar was a drugstore cream that has a more oily consistency and was recommended by the pediatrician, for her dry skin than for any diaper rash. The Mustela cream is more of a zinc oxide style of cream so the two serve different purposes.

This is my favorite Mustela product and one of the best (if not the best) baby products I've used over the last two years.
