This bag has caused more than a few mommy melt downs. Here are all the problems, in my opinion.

1. It's 13 inches across. 14 inches high. And 4 inches deep. Did you catch that. It's tall and skinny. Guess what that means? It falls over all the time!
2. It's main compartment has no zipper closure. It has ONE magnet to close it in the center. So when it falls over, everything shifts and or falls out.
3. The front pockets have no zipper closure. Again, each pocket has one magnet in the center to keep it closed. Which means you can't put that much in them if you want them to stay closed. And when it falls over because it's tall and skinny.. all of your stuff is going to shift and or fall out of these pockets.
4. If you fill the internal pockets HALF WAY you've pretty much used all of the room in the main compartment.
5. The zipper pockets on the top, there's two of them, aren't deep. They're only about three inches deep and the bag if fourteen inches tall...Read more

I had originally put this on my registry because I thought it was cute and I had heard great things about SkipHop. But the truth is, this doesn't hold as much as I need a diaper bag to hold. The outside pockets are handy at times, but when you fill them up, it makes the center/inner main pocket less spacious. I also feel like if it's not standing upright, everything kind of falls out pretty easily. There are magnets to hold the pockets closed, but that often means you can't fill the pockets up in order to close that magnetic clasp. I just found that I needed a major main pocket that could close securely with a zipper and have the organizational compartments inside the main compartment with just a few pockets on the outside for easy access. Also, now that I have a baby, I realize how much handier a diaper backpack would be. I find it really difficult to carry a baby in one arm with the diaper bag constantly sliding off my other arm. I had the Skip Hop messenger style bag with my first child. I loved everything about it (very durable, stylish but not to feminine for dad to carry, easy-to-clean, good pockets inside and out, outstanding stroller connections, etc.), except that I felt it was on the small side for longer trips. When I got pregnant with my second, I knew I would need a bigger bag. This one fit the bill. It has plenty of room for the new baby and the 2-year old. I can carry some clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, food. You name it. The magnetic closures on Duo Deluxe are much better than the snap magnets in my other Skip Hop Bag. I also appreciate the roomier bottle holder that holds a 32 ounce camel back container, let alone a wide bottle or sippy cup. The cup holders in my other bag did not have any stretch.

Why only four stars? I do miss some of the internal dividers my old bag had. This one has two, whereas the other had four. Also, the zippered pockets steal alot of the internal...Read more
